Headteacher's Message |

I would like to welcome back all our pupils and parents to a new year at Oystermouth Primary School. Coupled with that, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to all our new pupils, and their parents, to the school. These new pupils include: as well as the new Nursery children who started in September.
I believe that the school is a caring community which will always seek to offer stimulating and wide-ranging educational experiences to all pupils, regardless of ability, gender or race.
The school's philosophy can be summed up in our Vision Statement:
'Our school will seek to provide an imaginative, broad and balanced interpretation of the curriculum in inspiring, caring and secure classroom and wider school environments.
We want children of all potential, abilities and talents to enjoy learning and to develop as independent and motivated thinkers and learners whose achievements are recognised in all areas of the curriculum and personal experience.
We work to create a climate of tolerance, respect, mutual communication and support wherein all are willing to accept, and are proud of, the standards set by the school.'
I hope that our website will provide information about the school; its administrative procedures, the curriculum which we follow, how this works in practice in individual classrooms with our pupils as well as extra-curricular activities and events. All significant dates in the life of the school will also be posted so that you have as full a picture of what is happening with, hopefully, plenty of advance notice.
I want the website to be tailored to both the school's and parents' needs. Therefore, if there are any suggestions which you may have to make the website even better, then please place your comments in the 'Guestbook' - we will try to accommodate your requests.
Finally, we all want your child to be happy at Oystermouth and flourish as an individual. If you have any concerns or suggestions which you want to discuss, please feel free to see me, or your child's teacher, at any time.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website which is being continually developed by the children and staff of the school. I would also like to thank, in anticipation, Mr. David Norman, one of our grandparents, who has very kindly offerred to help with updating our website and, hopefully, making it more 'user-friendly'.
